This November the new generation of Pokemon will be unleashed on the Nintendo Switch and as with previous generations players will have the choice between two titles. Last time we had Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, this time we have Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee. In this post I am going to give an overview of both titles and the differences between them to hopefully help you come to an informed decision about which one is best for you!
A Little background
In the world of Pokemon you take on the role of a Pokemon trainer. You explore several worlds catching pocket creatures known as Pokemon and train them. Catch them all and fill your Pokedex, battle with Gym leaders and opposing teams to become the ultimate Pokemon trainer!
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee are the latest video games to be released in the franchise. Inspired by Pokemon Yellow, these new games offer a newcomer friendly, casual environment for players to explore. The aim is to make Pokemon games more approachable for new fans to the game. It is a combination of previous Pokemon role-playing games or RPG’s for short, and the new mobile game Pokemon Go.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu
So which should you choose? Ultimately it comes down to the kinds of Pokemon you like and which ones you prefer. This version features Pikachu as your buddy Pokemon riding alongside you on your shoulder. In addition, the other Pokemon that you find while exploring the world will be differentiating. In Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu you can find these which are exclusive to the Pikachu version:
Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee
Similarly, in this version of the Let’s Go series you will only get one buddy Pokemon. In Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee you will get Eevee as your companion riding with you on your adventure sitting on your trainers head. (as opposed to the shoulder for Pikachu) There are also exclusive Pokemon to be found in the Eevee version, these are:
HOWEVER YOU CAN STILL GET THE EXCLUSIVES ACROSS BOTH GAMES
Remember that with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee you can import your Pokemon that you have captured in your Pokemon Go game. So for example, if you purchased Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee you could import the Oddish you caught from Pokemon Go into your game and still have it that way. When you purchase the bundle that includes Pokeball Plus you can store your Pokemon Go Pokemon in the Pokeball that comes with it!
I hope this post helped some of you make a decision about which game you want to purchase! Below are links to each game, the Pokeball Plus versions and the standalone Pokeball.
